About Chapel 58
Mel & Steve Sanders - Co-founders
Chapel58 restoration was established over 16 years ago, named after our chapel conversion built in St Florence, in 1858! I am the co-owner of Chapel 58, Mel Sanders - an experienced Artist who created the Chapel 58 kitchen and furniture painting studio, in March 2013, taking furniture painting commissions full time. As time progressed I began to specialise in bespoke hand painted kitchens solely.
We can transform and update your kitchens with a full VIP makeover, we use high-quality Little Greene Intelligent Eggshell for a beautiful finish. Our studio has evolved over the past few years from creative furniture painting into specialist hand-painted kitchen services. Hop over to our Facebook page to take a look through the picture galleries show casing our artisan talents!
For the past four years, due to growing demand, perfecting traditional painting skills, I have specialised painting kitchen cabinets, doors, and housing, offering a number of services. I have gained trusted technique, I painted over 300 doors in 2019 - 2020 ongoing, see examples in the Kitchen Gallery, within a wide variety of kitchens, classic, contemporary, and country styles, modernising outdated Oak, Pine, Cherry wooden, veneered and laminate, even MDF finishes.
I offer a free picture estimate service and visit your home prior to booking a kitchen commission, with sample doors and colour charts, with over 135 colours to choose from, I only use the highest quality materials. I can advise on all aspects of your kitchen makeover, using trusted craftspeople for new flooring, slate and granite worktops, as part of the service.
We're proud members of HPKUK, a handpicked team of skilled kitchen painters create beautifully detailed hand-painted kitchens and hand-painted furniture for homes throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. HPKUK has been featured in house & garden and many more famous interior publications.
We feel passionate about our planet and know that choosing to paint your kitchens saves waste from landfill. I promote recycling in the studio and love to share ideas on my social media pages to inspire others! We were named as one of Pembrokeshire's "Eco Champions" in 2019 & look forward to continuing to improve our sustainability processes.
I love working in a creative environment and often post pictures to Instagram of my studio and coastal life. I am inspired by Interior magazines, keeping up with trending design. I am also an oil painter when I get spare time! My husband Steve Sanders is a trained restorer, quality craftsman, and Artist, specialising in Antique Globe restoration.
